How to Accomplish Your Goals - Using Self-Control Muscle
One of the most important steps to achieving success is to know how to accomplish your goals and stay focused on them. You must remain open to learning new ideas and techniques to accomplish what you are setting out to do. Keep in mind that goals are habits. You need to learn new planning ways, especially if your current way of planning is not working for you.

Be open to taking advantage of all the opportunities in your day to achieve your goals. If you already have a bible study or a reading goal, take the book out of your purse or briefcase and use a memory verse app on your smartphone. Using a verse memory will help you read your scriptures while you're standing in line at the grocery store or in line at the doctor's office.
To get better at goal setting, it helps to read your scriptures and use positive affirmations when you set goals. When you set goals, you must visualize yourself accomplishing them. Visualization is the most powerful tool you have to help you feel like you will accomplish your goal. Having positive affirmations such as "I will become an intelligent person" or "I can make a lot of money" will inspire you to keep going.
People who struggle with goal setting might say, I want to make at least a million dollars by next Tuesday. They look like they are going to be successful. Those who look like they want to make a million dollars might say, I want to be famous or be a millionaire. The truth is most people who say these things do not have the mental ability to make a million dollars.
How to accomplish your goals is more likely to be the default decision for those who have difficulty making it in life. This happens because we allow our self-limiting beliefs and negative thoughts to control our lives. If you tell yourself over again that you are not good enough, then it becomes a habit. This habit can prevent you from ever achieving your goals because you won't believe that you are good enough. It's just habit; however, there are ways of changing this to strengthen your mind so that you're always pursuing your goals with more energy.
One way you can change your default belief about accomplishing your goals is to focus on completing the tasks rather than the goals themselves. When you focus on completing the task, you become motivated to do the tasks. Your subconscious will work to make progress towards the set goals. You will be surprised at how quickly you will see results once you begin to focus on the end result of what you want to achieve instead of focusing on how to get there.
The last thing you need to do when trying to learn how to accomplish your goals is developing if-and-then plans. These if-and-then are short-term goals that outline what you need to do in the next five minutes, an hour or even a day. If you don't have these if-and-then planned out, you will be easily sidetracked and will procrastinate. When you know exactly what you need to do to get to where you want to go, however, you are less likely to procrastinate.
You can see that knowing how to accomplish your goals is about self-control. You don't have to be a super-intelligent person with a vast vocabulary. All you need to do is look at your life and ask, "What can I do to change this situation?" and then take the necessary action to make that happen. Once you have made that mental leap, the rest is easy because you will have transformed your situation, and the subsequent step is simple.
